Bouldering entry for minimum 1 Hour Session (does not include access to Rope Climbing Walls). Please note: under 14's must be booked in with a parent/guardian to supervise them. One adult can legally supervise two Under 14 boulderers at one time. Supervising adults are welcome to book in for Bouldering also. If not, they must book in for a free 'Supervising Under 14's' ticket. Supervisors must be prepared to sign a Bouldering Novice Entry form on arrival stating that they are happy to take the responsibility of the young people they take in to the Climbing Wall. Climbing shoes must be worn on the climbing wall and bouldering areas. Equipment hire will be available on the day from reception, at a cost of £6 per hire (includes all required items). This is availability dependant. If capacity allows, climbers may be able to continue to boulder past their slot end time.

Roped Climbing Wall for Experienced Climbers

Entry to the Climbing Wall for Roped Climbing. Competent Belayers with ropework and belay knowledge can accompany a maxiumum of two novice climbers per visit. Competent Belayers that arrive with Novice Climbers must be prepared to fill out a Novice Entry form stating that they are happy to take responsibility for the participants they take into the wall. Novice Climbers must be accompanied by a Competent Belayer. Competency will be evaluated by TX Climbing Instructors. Competent Belayers aged 14-17 are able to climb without adult supervision provided they have been evaluated by TX Climbing Staff, parental consent obtained and they have been issued with a 14-17 Climber card. 14-17 Climbers cannot be responsible for novice climbers. Each 14-17 climber must carry their card on them at all times and have it ready to show receptio staff on arrival and at anytime during their session. Children can climb with a parent belaying provided the parent is a competent belayer. Adults attending intending only to belay will gain free entry, but still have to complete an online booking with the 'Competent Adult Belayer accompanying Novice Climbers' ticket. Please note this information within your booking or at reception on arrival. Climbing Sessions are for a minimum of 2 hours. Climbers are welcome to stay beyond this time depending on the number of climbers within the centre. Equipment hire is available from reception or on booking at a cost of £6 per hire (includes all required items). Hire is dependent on availability.

NICAS level 1 - New Climber An entry level aimed at novices that recognises their ability to climb safely under supervision. Climbers will learn how to put on a harness, how to tie onto a rope and how to belay another climber as well as basic movement around the climbing and bouldering walls. Climbers in level 1 will be under the supervision of an instructor at all times. NICAS level 2 - Foundation Climber Aimed at promoting good practice in climbing and bouldering unsupervised on an artificial wall. Climbers will build on the experiences gained in level 1, and at the end of level 2 should potentially be independent tope rope climbers and boulderers. This climbing course is 1.5 hours of development coaching for climbers currently in NICAS or those who have finished it. This course is ideal for anyone looking to advance their climbing skills to coincide with their regular NICAS course and improve anything you are working on. Participants will be expected to work on fundamental climbing techniques up to advanced movement on the wall, including top rope, boulder, and lead (for those in NICAS 4 or above).
