Ashford’s weekly night of vintage music and dance, an evening of swing dancing with music from the 1920s to the 1950s. 7pm-9.45pm each Wednesday: 7pm-7.30pm: Beginner’s 1940’s/50’s style jive class, a dance class perfect for anyone with no dance experience. 7.30pm-7.45pm: Music for practice 7.45pm-8.15pm: Intermediate 1940’s/50’s style jive class, moves for dancers with some experience 8.15pm-9.45pm: Social dance. A mix of 1920’s Charleston, 1930’s and 1940’s Swing Music, Jump Jive and Western Swing and 1950’s Rock and Roll, Doo Wop and Rockabilly. Plus occasional short dance classes and fun contests. 10% discount on food and drink for anyone attending the evening from 6pm, bar closes at 9.30pm Entry for the whole evening: £7/£6 reduced (unemployed, retired, student or NHS staff) per person, cash only, paid on entry.
