You can join this class at any time! This is a 8-week summer course for Improver-level Irish dancers with a 1 year-18 month's experience who want to keep learning Irish dancing in a fun and supportive environment! This summer term, we will be focusing on technique, building confidence with different heavy jig rhythms and light shoe technique. Each class will cover both heavy and light dancing, so you can build your confidence with both! This is perfect for dancers who are already confident with the basics of soft shoe dancing (threes, sevens, jumps, rise and grind) and already have a experience with beginners heavy shoe (shuffles/stamps etc). 🕺 Taught by the brilliant Lauren Young and Emma Owens, with assistance from Paul O'Neill. 🍻 This is a social and supportive class followed by a trip to the pub each week! Note: This course is available as a discounted 8-week block booking. A single-ticket option will become available 1 week before the first class if there is still availability.

‘The Tuesday Social’ is a monthly Scottish dance session aimed at people in (or close to) their 20s and 30s living and working in London. If you love to dance or would like to learn, 'The Tuesday Social' is for you. No need to bring a partner, everyone dances with everyone in this friendly, fun and sociable way to dance. The session features popular dances, accessible to beginners but enjoyable for more experienced dancers too, consolidating steps and movements in a social dance setting. When and where The group meets once a month from 7.30-9.30pm in the Upper Hall at St Columba’s Church on Pont Street in Knightsbridge. Sessions are typically on the 4th Tuesday but this does vary sometimes so do check our listings to be sure. 2026: 24 Mar, 28 Apr, 26 May, 16 Jun How it works This session combines great teaching with live music and lots of dancing, plus a social break with time to relax and chat. No previous experience necessary but plenty of opportunity to enjoy dancing and (if you wish) to learn about dancing opportunities (RSCDS London runs a wide range of classes aimed at Children, beginners, improvers, advanced and very advanced dancers). The Tuesday Social group members often join forces to attend Scottish dance events in London and further afield (recent activities include RSCDS Spring Fling, Summer School, the White Rose Festival, and open air dancing in Kensington Gardens).
