In House Competition- Sunday 7th June 2026

We’re so excited to announce our upcoming SKSD In-House Competition, open to all SKSD students aged 6 years and up! This fun, supportive event is designed to be inclusive, fair, and encouraging for every dancer, no matter their experience level. The competition will be split into age divisions, and dancers will also be grouped as Competition Team and Non-Competitive students to ensure a fair and positive experience for everyone. Competition Sections ✨ Section 1: Learn & Perform Dancers will take part in a Modern Jazz–style class competition. They will learn a complete routine in 45 minutes, then perform it for the judge. This section will be judged by an external adjudicator, focusing on performance, technique, and presentation. ✨ Section 2: Solo Performance Dancers also have the option to perform a self-choreographed solo, prepared at home. Dancers choose their own music, choreography, and costume, and will perform their routine for the judges on the day. Awards Both sections will be placed 1st through 6th, celebrating effort, growth, and performance across all age groups. This competition is all about having fun, building confidence, and celebrating our dancers in a supportive studio environment. It’s open to everyone, and we would love to see as many students involved as possible!

Established in January 2023, the Kitty Watson Academy of Performing Arts (KWA) is an independent theatre school offering a variety of different classes and training some of Manchester’s most promising young performers aged 4yrs–18yrs. We offer ‘triple threat’ training for our students where under expert tuition, they thrive in a professional, positive and nurturing environment. We give our students two professional show opportunities each year where they can put their training into practice. We also offer exams and assessments such as LAMDA to track their progress.
