Come and try the best sport you've never heard of! ✨️ Everyone is welcome but we're especially looking for women! We're already an established club, but we're using Meetup so that new people can find us. Registering isn't required; just turn up! Korfball is a great way to make new friends, as well as run around and keep fit. It's similar to basketball and netball, but there are no set positions and it's mixed gender. Don't worry if you haven't caught a ball since school; we welcome complete beginners and love new people. It's easy to pick up and we'll help you out. You're welcome to train with us casually and come along to our socials, and if you decide that you want to play competitively, you can play in league matches at weekends. At the moment, the club is only looking for women to join our competitive teams, but everyone is welcome to train with us. If you're a guy and you're interested in playing competitively, please check out our friends Bristol City: Bristol City Korfball Club | Meetup. We're a very large, social club, and we'll be heading to the pub afterwards as well. Come give us a try! Location: Saint Mary Redcliffe and Temple School. (Enter through the carpark, go through two sets of doors, turn right and go through the doors, go down the stairs and stay straight until you see doors on the right between lockers, go through and follow the corridor round. There's a video on our Instagram of how to find us!) Time: 7.15-9.15pm What to bring: Indoor trainers, clothes that you're comfortable running around in and water. Price: Your first month is free, then it's £20/month or £5/session. Connect with us: Check out what we're up to on our Instagram @bristolthunderkorfball - Give me a message if you have any questions!

The ride leader will stop for catch-ups, at junctions and hills. You must be confident in your fitness level for the whole ride. If you are in any doubt please do not attend. You must be capable of riding for 90 minutes non stop and completed this recently. We do not ride fast and do stop at the top of hills but we do require a certain level of fitness. Your bike needs to be recently ridden and in good order. There is likely to be someone on the ride who can help mend a puncture, although this is not guaranteed. Have a plan is you or your bike cannot be fixed following an incident.

For beginners the first 2 sessions are free! Strength and balance is a fun and dynamic way to build strength, balance, and coordination. You’ll develop full-body control, improve strength, and (re-)discover the joy of moving. Whether you’re a complete beginner or have experience at the gym (and / or with kettlebells), you’ll be learning how to lift weights and build strength. This is about learning good technique, listening carefully to how our bodies respond to the work we’re asking them to do, and learning how to meet your edges and build strength by challenging yourself.  I’m hoping you’ll leave feeling energised, confident, and ready to move well. Kettlebells are a great, easy to use, multi-purpose weight (sort of in the shape of a kettle!) that offer us an infinite variety of useful movement patterns. This class is designed to be accessible for all levels, with a focus on learning the fundamentals in a supportive and engaging environment.

This class takes an interval training approach - exercise stations are set up around the studio alternating between cardiovascular (heart) and resistance (strength & endurance) exercises. Participants spend up to 1 minute on each exercise with a 30 second break in between. The benefit of interval training is that we can work at higher intensities but for very short duration. Everyone can work to their own level, from the beginner to the more advanced exerciser. The class concludes with mat based floor work for core strengthening and stretching (chair based alternatives available).
