BODY TO BODY - BTS Creative Filming Class KMDC’s next Creative Filming Class will be BODY TO BODY - BTS — a special performance project created through a blend of commercial choreography, contemporary-based movement, traditional-inspired interpretation, team formations, storytelling, and final filming. This project is designed to become more than just a dance cover. It will be built as a creative performance piece where different movement styles, textures, and emotions are connected naturally according to the music, lyrics, rhythm, and character of each section. Rather than following one style from beginning to end, BODY TO BODY will explore how different genres can exist within one complete performance while still feeling connected as a whole. The intro and rap sections will be developed mainly through Min’s commercial style, bringing strong energy, attitude, and performance power. Jimin’s more lyrical vocal section will be expressed through Min’s contemporary-based movement style, focusing on flow, body control, emotion, and softer movement quality. The section featuring the Arirang rhythm will be shaped through Yerin’s traditional dance-inspired movement and interpretation, adding a distinctive and memorable colour to the piece. We are also currently planning to explore a structure where performers may be divided into a Hip-hop Team and a Contemporary Team, allowing each group to show a different style, mood, and interpretation within the performance. The current idea is for each team to present its own movement quality before the first chorus, before gradually coming together from the second chorus through to the ending as one connected performance. However, this structure is not fixed yet and may be adjusted organically during the rehearsal process, depending on the overall balance of the piece, the performers’ movement qualities, team dynamics, and what feels most natural and effective for the final result. Throughout this project, we will work step by step on: • Choreography learning • Formation and spacing • Commercial performance quality • Contemporary-based movement and body control • Traditional-inspired movement interpretation • Texture, flow, and emotional expression • Teamwork and performance connection • Camera awareness and final filming preparation This class is recommended for dancers who want to challenge themselves beyond a regular class and experience the process of creating a complete performance from the inside — not only learning choreography, but also building the movement, structure, details, and emotional quality of the piece together. If you are interested in exploring a more artistic side of K-pop performance, improving your movement quality, and being part of a meaningful creative filming project with the KMDC community, this class is for you. --- Project Schedule BODY TO BODY - BTS Creative Filming Class Schedule Week 1 — May 17 (Sun), 4:00–7:00 PM The Castle Centre Extended 3-hour session with Min.
