Improvers+ - Heavy Shoe
This is a 1-hour weekly class for dancers with 2-3 years of experience in heavy shoe Irish dancing. This class is perfect for confident Improvers+ dancers those who are interested in building their skills and confidence in heavy shoe dancing and introducing new intermediate-level rhythms and footwork! The class focuses on heavy shoe Irish dancing and is perfect for those who... • Are very comfortable with the basics of heavy shoe dancing and rhythms (ie. heavy jig / hornpipe / St Patrick's Day / treble reel) • Have previous experience in Irish heavy shoe dancing and looking to get back into it • Have significant experience in other styles of percussive trying a new genre/able to pick steps up quickly • Are looking to challenge themselves to take on some new rhythms and choreography in the new year to advanced to Intermediate in 2026 This term, we will be covering... • Improvers+ Heavy Jig • Jockey to the Fair Set Dance Not sure if this class is for you? 🎥 This choreography should look totally manageable: This choreography should look a little bit more challenging but manageable with some practice: 🕺 Your teacher will be Joshua Ruddock, former World Champion solo Irish dancer. 🍻 This is a social and supportive class followed by a trip to the pub in Waterloo each week! Note: We recommend joining every week to build confidence and get the most from classes, however classes are structured so that people can drop-in and join at any point in a term. PLEASE NOTE THERE ARE NO CLASSES W/C 18TH MAY
