ManKind Project Community UK & Ireland

EMPOWERING MEN TO LIVE THEIR TRUE POTENTIAL Why the ManKind Project exists: Society’s expectations on men are based on power, control and invincibility, and push men away from developing social and emotional skills and vulnerability. This causes much of the dysfunctional behaviour disrupting our society. Traditional societies understood that both women and men need the benefit and support of their own social groups. Women’s communities help girls to mature into women and the men’s communities are required to support boys to shift from their cared for, nurtured and protected mindset to that of the carer, nurturer and protector of the mature man. Women are being proactive in redefining their role for our modern society. Our work is to help men do the same, and understand their role in achieving a healthy masculine feminine balance in our world. Many men feel that something is not working or that something is missing in their lives and want to put that right. Being clearer about who he is, and about his role in life, allows a man to live with confidence, and purpose, and create a life without fear for himself and those around him. All genders may join this meetup group and some of our events will be open to all sexes. But our men's groups and men's training events are only open to men subject to our stance on diversity which is: We affirm that all men are welcome on our trainings and in our communities. We will not tolerate discrimination on our trainings or in our communities. We support our training and community leaders in identifying and challenging discriminatory language and behaviour. We create trainings and circles in which all men are welcome to discover their deepest truths. We welcome men of races and creeds and all sexual orientations: gay, straight, and bisexual, including those who identify as having unwanted same sex attraction, to do their own work as they define it, to respect the identity and value of others, and to take responsibility for the impact
