Norfolk Hike & Pub

We're a friendly hiking group based in Norwich, run by a couple with a passion for getting outside and exploring the best of Norfolk on foot. Our walks are designed to be as accessible as possible. Most start and end at Norwich train station, so there's no need for a car. Think coastal paths, clifftop walks, and countryside loops: a typical outing might take in the Norfolk Coastal Path and Sheringham Park, or follow the cliffs from Cromer down to Overstrand and return along the beach. Occasionally we'll also organise walks closer to Norwich that may need a short drive. Every walk ends the right way, with a well-earned drink at a local pub! Our walks are led by Thurstan, a former hike leader with the London-based Fun Hikes group. No specialist experience needed, just the ability to walk for a few hours and an enthusiasm for the outdoors. We're a group mainly in our 30s and 40s, but all ages are genuinely welcome. If you're looking for a great way to explore Norfolk, stay active, and meet like-minded people, come and join us. DISCLAIMER Norfolk Hike & Pub is run on a voluntary basis. Any charges cover operational costs such as Meetup platform fees. By joining any Norfolk Hike & Pub event, you confirm that you have read and agreed to everything below. If you don’t agree, please don’t attend. You join every event entirely of your own free will and accept that outdoor walking carries inherent risks. These include uneven ground, tree roots, potholes, low branches, muddy or icy conditions, open water, road traffic, cyclists, joggers, e-scooters, farm and wild animals, and plants that may cause allergic reactions. Routes may use busy roads, towpaths, bridleways, country lanes, and woodland tracks. You take personal responsibility for assessing whether it is safe for you to continue at any point. You confirm that you are 18 or over, physically fit and capable of walking up to 6-8 miles (see individual hike lengths), carrying any personal medication you require, and that you do not need any special assistance or additional duty of care from the organiser or other participants. Travel to, from, and between events is entirely at your own risk. The walk leader is a fellow enthusiast, not a professional guide or medical professional. They are familiar with the route but are not responsible for your personal safety during the walk. To the fullest extent permitted by UK law, the organiser, co-hosts, and event hosts accept no responsibility for any loss, damage, or injury suffered by participants during any Norfolk Hike & Pub. Nothing in this notice limits your statutory rights. If you want personal accident or activity insurance, you must arrange this yourself. This notice may be updated from time to time. The current version applies to all events.
