Come sit awkwardly with us for our meetups in Doncaster - a regular monthly event to socialise within a small group (10 people max) 😅 The location is The Mallard (Frenchgate), which is wheelchair accessible, but If you have any additional accessibility requirements, please let us know in advance. Please avoid eye contact with other members whenever possible. Being weird and socially awkward is highly desirable (but not required). Mumbling, overthinking what to say, and struggling to speak out loud are all perfectly normal forms of communication here. Bonus points if you work in IT, freelance from home, and regularly go 3+ days without speaking to another human. No pressure, no forced socialising, and no expectations to do anything. You can join in, sit quietly, chat to another socially awkward person, stare at your phone all evening, or leave without saying goodbye if you start feeling uncomfortable. We only have one rule: treat others with kindness and respect. If someone seems a little nervous, please be nice to them. For anyone who does want to talk, we’ll have the “A Little More Conversation” card game. It’s very simple - just pick a card and answer one of the three questions. No matter your background, age, or level of social anxiety, you’re welcome here 💙 P.S. If all spots are taken, feel free to join the waiting list, and you'll be notified if someone cancels. And if your plans change, PLEASE do cancel your attendance asap, even if it's only a few hours before the event. It gives someone else the chance to join our small group. If there is someone you wish to bring with you, please encourage them to create a Meetup profile and sign up to the event themselves.
