Nottingham HF Rambling Club

Sun
📅 Every sunday
📍 NG2 6AA

Nottingham HF is a friendly, long established walking club. We run fortnightly coaches mainly to Derbyshire and Staffordshire, but also to Leicestershire and Yorkshire. Most walks will be circular based upon the named location but the use of a coach gives us the opportunity to occasionally offer linear walks. On each trip three levels of walk are available: 10-12 miles, 7-8 miles and 5-6 miles and are led by experienced walkers. Coach pick-ups are at Keyworth Square 8.40am, then at County Hall, West Bridgford at 9 am, then the centre of Nottingham, Maid Marian Way at the bus stop on the left going North (just round the corner from Mount Street) at 9.15am, and then on the A610 by the Nuthall Pub 9.25am, opposite to Phoenix Park tram terminus (where free parking is also available on the slip road). There are also Wednesday morning car/bus rambles twice a month, usually ending in a pub lunch. You will be allowed to come on one or two of our walks before we ask you to join the club and pay our annual membership fee (£15 single, £25 couple), But if you wish to come regularly on walks with us, we recommend that you join the club. You do not need Meetup+ to access Nottingham HF Rambling Club on Meetup, simply use the free Meetup. Please contact the club secretary for further information by e-mail: For more details on coach pick-up points (including parking), other walks, holidays and social events see the club website: www.nottinghamhframblingclub.co.uk You can also find us on: www.facebook.com/nottinghamhframblingclub/ For a full writeup of the club's 'Risk Assessment' policy please click on the link below: Need To Know | Nottingham HF Rambling Club

Notts 20s and 30s Walking Group

Sun
📅 26 Jul 2026
📍 NG1 3FN

Do you love walking and being in the countryside? Do you want to get to know more like-minded people in the area? This is primarily a walking group for people in their 20s and 30s to meet other 'outdoorsy' types. We will also put on other activities from time to time and always welcome suggestions. We are an informal social hill walking group, we are not a club and event organisers are not trained mountain leaders. Walks are usually about 10 miles, so you'll need to come prepared with appropriate footwear, clothing and sufficient water and food for the day. The organiser(s) will indicate the expected level of challenge, usually 'moderate', but may be: Easy- Leisurely pace walk, ideal for newcomers to hill walking, but you must still be fit enough to cover the distance in the time allocated. Moderate- You should be physically fit enough to manage a walk of this length and be walking at a consistent moderate pace for around 5 hours. There may be tricky or steep sections, muddy slopes, etc. Challenging- You should be in good fitness, able to walk at a steady pace for up 16 miles, tackle steep climbs and cope with few breaks; there may be challenging scrambles and mild peril. Experienced Only- You should be a regular mountaineer who is up for a challenge. This is not recommended for first timers, and you must be in very good fitness. Please note that by joining a walk or other activity, you take responsibility for your own actions and participate at your own risk. Bear in mind that the routes planned are not usually pre-walked, so do be patient with your organisers if the footpaths aren't where they are supposed to be!! Most walks are within a 90-minute drive from Nottingham, there are occasional trips further afield and weekends away. Don't drive? Some walks will be accessible by public transport but, due to the remoteness of most Peak District walks, this is not always possible. If you are interested in joining a walk but don't drive, please post

Nottingham & Derby Walking Group

Sat
📅 27 Jun 2026
📍 NG1 6AE

Notts Derby Walkers are a safe and inclusive hiking and social group aimed at people of working age. We are part of The Ramblers. We are based in Nottingham and Derby and provide walks of a variety of lengths on weekends and summer evenings. These are largely in the Peak District, but we do venture to less popular but equally nice areas in the vicinity. We also have regular socials such as pub meets and meals out as well as weekends and week long holidays away in the UK. We offer a safe environment and all are welcome to join us for a walk whether you are already a keen walker, or just starting down the path. Your first three walks are FREE for new members. We are part of the Ramblers and we are always keen to meet new members. You can join here, please select Notts Derby Walkers NE50 as your local group. Annual membership is exceptionally reasonable (just under £4pm on Direct Debit). Membership also gives you access to social events that aren't advertised on Meetup and weekends away. With membership, you can also join any of the other 500 Ramblers groups, including other Derbyshire groups and those nearby in Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire. Joining The Ramblers in general brings all the benefits of being part of the UK's largest walking organisation, with discounts available in many walking shops (e.g. 15% at Cotswold Outdoor). You will also receive a magazine 4 times a year, about walking in the UK and things that affect your rights to walk through our amazing and varied countryside. Your membership fees also contribute to The Ramblers' efforts to promote walking as a healthy pastime, to campaign for access and to fight for maintained access to our rights of way. What's not to like? Not all our members are on Meetup or our Facebook group, so there will be more people on walks than are shown on Meetup. Fo
