It is FREE to join our group (no charges apply unlike some other groups) and the aim is to meet people in person at group events where we do at least one event per week (lots to choose from) to build friendships, be happy and enjoy our time together. Everyone of all ages are welcome, we are a friendly, welcoming, happy bunch 😊 I am Lisa and as lead organiser for the group I am naturally a great person to plan things, be dedicated, organise and arrange a variety of events for us all to look forward to. This is group is for Kent Based Professionals and Hard Workers, Singles, Non Singles and Parents who are open to expanding their social networks and escape the hustle and bustle of day to day work and home life with like minded people in a relaxed and informal environment. Our group is a fun, friendly community of adults with a good sense of humour who enjoy a fun, relaxing time and good conversation. We plan a range of interesting activities such as casual drinks, dinner, coffee, adventure/leisure, bowling, and movies. Please note that you'll need to have uploaded a clear photo of yourself to join - it's only fair to our organisers who will be looking out for you at events and making sure they welcome you. :)
Hello and welcome to Mid Kent Social. We are a broad-based social group for those of age 50+ whose members generally live in the Maidstone & Medway areas – but that’s not a prerequisite for joining! However, it is our area of interest for our events though we do plan visits & walks further afield. MKS is for all those who want to get out and make friends, and join in events which you may not get to hear about otherwise. So no staying indoors staring at four walls! Now you can enjoy a variety of events, safely and unpressured, in the company of like-minded people. These range from short walks around a town centre or River with coffee and cake after, through to country rambles, theatre and cinema on occasions, Some events will be free of charge, although others may incur entrance and/or travel costs. Where deposits/payments are needed for events, this will be clearly stated in the event listing. Organisers are happy to hear suggestions for potential future events from members. You can attend one meet up within the first month before paying the membership fee to see what we are about and what future events we have on the calendar. On occasion you may wish to bring a guest to an event but please check with an organiser first. Our membership year is 1st Sept - 31st Aug. This must be from your personal account so as to reference your subscription. The Group account for payments is: Mrs J E Kirby Sort: 60 05 29 Acc No: 22013989 We have only two conditions for membership: - Firstly, a clear very recent (within 6 months) full head & shoulders picture of YOU only (not your kids, doggie or a nice tree.....!) is required to remain in the group. This can be updated as often as you like. This is both so the event host can recognise you when you arrive at an event, and for your personal safety that you also know who is at the event. If you’re not happy with walking into an event on your own for the first time, we can arrange for the host to meet you outside. Secondly, we ask that all new members attend a MeetUp within a month of applying to see if the group suits you.. It is important that you are sure you can attend and change your RSVP to not going so others perhaps on a waitlist can go. Failure to turn up 3 times without notice or RSVP change could result in removing your profile. So if you’d like to expand your social life, come and join us! We look forward to welcoming you. We’re a group of sociable professionals (approx. 30–55 years old) based in and around Maidstone, who love making the most of life — whether you’re new to the area or just finding that your friends don’t go out as much anymore, this is a great way to meet new people with shared interests. Our events include: Drinks & dinners Comedy nights & cinema trips Gigs & festivals Walks & paddleboarding (SUP) Escape Rooms Plus trips across Kent, East Sussex and the occasional outing to London! We’re a non-profit group, but running it does come with high subscription fees, so we kindly ask for a £12.50 annual contribution to help us keep everything going and continue offering great events. 🔹 New members can attend one meetup for free (within 2 months of joining) before being asked to contribute.
