The Basingstoke & District Disability Forum is hosting their annual Disability Awareness Day in the Malls in Basingstoke Town Centre, They need help with setting up and packing away tables, chairs and sandbags before the event, we should be able to leave by 8:40am to get to work. Details for where to meet will be provided closer to the date.
Have you been seeing GoodGym doing good deeds around Basingstoke recently and wanted to get involved? This week is the perfect opportunity as along with the National Volunteer Week we are doing a starter session which will include gardening in Eastrop Park. We will be meeting at the Basingstoke Sports & Social Club at 6:15pm before we set off to Eastrop Park with 2 groups, 1 for walking and the other jogging. You can meet us there from 6:40pm There will be a range of tasks available for you to choose depending on what you would enjoy. The council is providing the needed tools so gardening gloves are the only things you need to bring. We will assist there until 8pm when we head back to the Social Club where you can get some food and drinks
This week we are goingt o be doing a flyering session for some local charities promoting all the great things that are happening. There are still some flyers to be confirmed, but will definitely include Brookvale Village Hall, NeighbourCare & ourselves. We are going to meet at the BrookVale Village Hall from 6:15pm and then distribute the flyers from there. We are going to split into small groups to cover more area, some groups will be jogging while others walking, but you will always have someone with you.

We are super excited to be back at the The Dwelling Place after an exceptional last session there! The Dwelling Place is an amazing charity which provides housing for 6 previously homeless men for 2 or more years. Giving them the safe space and support to rebuild their lives. Last time we were there we cleared a whole lot of the space out, and they have done more since, so they are now ready to lay some of their patio. They have experts who will direct us and make sure that there is a job for everyone As always we are meeting at the Basingstoke Sports & Social Club at 6:15pm before we walk, run or cycle (there is safe bike storage available) to the space, getting there at around 6:40. If you would like to meet us there you are more than welcome. Equipment will be provided, but I suggest bringing your own gloves.
