The annual Tony Barnes Memorial Run returns to Sefton Park on Wednesday, 8th July. You can sign up here for £24: Don't fancy the run? Come along to cheer on your fellow GoodGymmers, or simply meet us afterwards for a Summers Eve picnic in the beautiful Sefton Park. This run and picnic has become a bit of an annual Goodgym tradition, established by our wonderful Sally Ann. It's a lovely opportunity to meet up and socialise, run completely optional, and in previous years we've managed to put on quite a spread! Meeting at 7pm to allow time to collect pre-registered race numbers before the run starts at 7.30pm. Meet up point near the registration centre, which is located near the Sefton Park lake car park, off Mossley Hill Drive and will be well signed posted. Please note: signing up to this GoodGym task does NOT give entry to the race. To enter the race, you must register and pay the £24 entrance fee at The run sells out each year so early registration is strongly recommended! All are very welcome to skip the run and join the picnic, we'll update the WhatsApp group with picnic location but will congregate near the finish line to cheer all of the GoodGym runners across, before choosing a spot. Picnic is potluck style - bring food to share!

The Choir with No Name ( is a charity that runs choirs across the UK for people experiencing homelessness or are otherwise marginalised and at risk. They perform across the UK at high profile events and local community celebrations, and always fill the audience with cheer, a whole load of love, and a fabulous fun night out! This year the Liverpool choir are hosting their Summer Big Gig at the Everyman Theatre With special guest acts tba. You'll be helping before the show to set up, and then front of house with merchandise and info desk etc, in the interval and the end of the show too, but you'll also get to see the show! We've had a strong relationship with the choir for a number of years and always have a lot of fun helping out at their events. Please Note: The start time of the task is yet to be confirmed and could be anytime from 4pm onwards, the event goes on till 10ish with time to clear up etc so it's a long evening. Once times are confirmed you'll have chance to say if you can do the full task or just a part of it.

We’ve been invited to support the Everton Hills Olympic Games 2026—a brilliant local event taking place in Everton Park We’ll be helping with set-up and stewarding throughout the afternoon. As this is a longer task than usual, please don’t feel you need to stay for the whole event—any time you can give is hugely appreciated. If you’re planning to come along, please comment with the time frame you’re available, so we can assign roles accordingly. This is the first-ever Everton Hills Olympics, and it would be fantastic to have a strong GoodGym presence to help make it a success. Meeting point at start of the task : The top of the steps under the Colonnades just below the Viewing point in the top park What3Words location link here ( We’ll share updates nearer the time about where we’ll be throughout the event, so anyone arriving later can head straight to the right spot.

We've been asked by our friend Kirsty, from her neighbourhood group in Toxteth, to help her clear all the weeds from a pathway used by a local school. It's not a huge task, but she would like a few people to give her a hand! You can see the pathway in the picture, it should only take 30-60 minutes max so a quick after work task as a little extra this week!. Just waiting for the exact meet up location near the school and will add the details and link ASAP.
