We'll be helping to sort and organise donated clothes, homeware, furniture, games and toys before they make their way to one of the Community Hospice shops across Bexley and Greenwich boroughs. It's always a magical mystery tour as you open each bag, wondering what's inside. With a little training you'll soon get into the swing of checking the item's condition and sorting it into the correct bag ready for onward transit, and hopefully a new home. Tea, coffee and biscuits are provided by the friendly warehouse team. Places are limited so if the event is showing as fully booked please email to say that you are interested, then we can try and set-up some more dates. 📍Where and when This session is at the Community Hospice Shop at 16 Bellegrove Parade, Welling DA16 2RE, What3Words location: wasp.attend.deed. Please arrive for 10am and the task will finish at 1pm. On arrival go into the shop and ask for the warehouse team. Andrew is the Warehouse Manager and he or his colleague James will usually be there to meet you. What to wear Of course you'll be wearing your GoodGym t-shirt if you have one😉! In addition, the Hospice team suggest you wear comfortable clothes so that you can move around easily, and comfy shoes as you'll be standing the whole time while you work. No open-toed shoes please 😊.

Discover Welling have taken over the running of a much-loved community fair on Shoulder of Mutton Green and they have asked for our help! There's a choice of two tasks, or you can mix and match both! 1) Lending a hand at Discover Welling's own stall, helping people have a go at their retro fairground games. This will raise funds that will go back into things like the Christmas lights in Welling high street. You'll be showing families how to do the Roll-A-Ball and Flip-The-Frog games, and handing out prizes when people win. These traditional games are always popular and it's lovely seeing children having fun as they have a go. OR 2) If you prefer to be a bit more behind-the-scenes, you might like to do some litter picking. This would really help to keep the area looking neat and tidy. We're listing the session as 12-1pm but you are welcome to go along any time from 11am-4pm, and spend as long or as little time as you like. Before or after helping out you can enjoy the rest of the fair - there will be bouncy castles, food and drink vendors, raffles, craft stalls, face painting and more... 📍When and where The Funday is at Shoulder of Mutton Green in Welling, on Wickham Street DA16 3NR, What3Words location: ///insist.booth.galaxy Head to the Discover Welling Stall and ask for Julie. Discover Welling are organising the Community Funday at Shoulder of Mutton Green, taking place on Saturday. They would like some help on the day before (= this Friday) with a litter pick to get the area ready . Grab some gloves, head out for some fresh air, meet some new people, boost your step count, and help the planet, all in one!
