Muslim Meetup Group (Bristol, Cardiff & Surrounding)

Wed
📅 Every wednesday
📍 BS9 3JR

Salam! Welcome to a new Muslim meet up group, based in Bristol! We are a Muslim-run group expanding the social circle and community for people who are new in town and local to the area, for all backgrounds, genders and religions (not solely Muslims). \* This is a family-friendly group so mehrams are encouraged. Activities such as board game evenings, movie nights, open mic/spoken word, annual summer BBQ/picnics, mini getaways, annual or biannual stargazing/meteor shower events, city/urban walks, and more. We are open to suggestions! Most importantly, I hope this encourages Muslims (new in town, new to Islam, etc) to connect during Ramadan where it can be quite alien observing the month on your own and celebrating Eid ul Fitr and Eid Al Adha alone. House rules: \- Please do let the organiser know if you are bringing a guest\. A lot of events require bookings and some need deposits\. It allows them 24hrs to amend the booking and avoid fees\! \- Please do let the organiser know if you are no longer coming and take off your name\. If there are 3x no\-shows for booked events\, you will be removed from joining future events which require bookings/deposits\.

The meditations I lead are all about helping people have a direct experience in their mind and body. Through experiencing our own inner goodness, we can start to become clear about our true identity and purpose, as well as heal the psychological trauma and negative beliefs and attitudes that cause us so many problems in life. Deep down what all people want is to be happy. But life is full of pain, and we are weighed down by all the emotional and psychological baggage we have picked up over time. This baggage keeps us living life as some distorted version of ourself, making us feel small, stressed, and with a sense of lack that won't go away. Through guided meditation and mantra practice, in a short amount of time you can experience a glimpse of your own awakened nature, which is naturally radiant, calm, loving, and perfectly at ease. Beneath the rigid walls of our ego lies our natural capacity to heal our weary hardened heart, see beauty and wonder in the world again, and to live in natural ease beyond our habitual fears. Gradually, with regular practice, we begin to taste life without all this heaviness that pulls us down, as the layers of tension, confusion and attachment are dissolved in the light of our own loving awareness, and we begin to realise a sense of inner freedom. This is possible even for you, because underneath it all you have pure awakened nature. There are examples of both men and women in our Sangha (spiritual community of Open Heart) who are married with children, and jobs to go to, who have had awakening experiences of both mind and heart, and come to know who they truly are — a lasting experience of total freedom and intimacy with the world. I'm an Acharya (instructor) for Open Heart, a contemporary yogic lineage founded by Amrita Baba, that combines teachings from Buddhism, Hinduism, Taoism, Christianity, as well as Western psychotherapy and movement modalities, with a focus on techniques that work. These healing meditations are good fo

Are you looking for Spiritual Truth, inner peace and a way to really make a difference in the world? Do you want to develop your intuition? Would you like to really use your innate healing powers? Do you want proper answers to the fundamental questions about why we are here, our true purpose and potential in life? If the answer is YES, then King Yoga is for you! Watch our Introductory Video As a spiritual seeker, you may feel overwhelmed by the number of claims being made by spiritual teachers. One says one thing – another says the opposite. What can you believe – or trust? The only ways to know are: intuition, logic and sense perception. When you really experience King Yoga for yourself, you will know that it works. Taught by western Master of Yoga Dr. George King (1919 – 1997), King Yoga is a spiritual path free from the outdated dogma of traditional religion – a spiritual path that can bring you real enlightenment, and enable you to change the consciousness of humanity as a whole. King Yoga is threefold: service to others, spiritual teachings and self-development. This makes it perfectly balanced for karmic evolution. King Yoga is not about blind faith. It is about the realization of Truth. King Yoga is not about rejecting logic. It is about understanding what the universe really is – and what and who you really are. King Yoga is not about praying to God for random miracles. King Yoga is about your ability to make miracles happen. *** The Aetherius Temple in Barnsley is a unique, beautifully-designed sanctuary of worship and healing dedicated to the spiritual ideals of peace, freedom and enlightenment. Lovingly renovated over a period of several years, the vast majority of the work was carried out by King Yogis, many of whom donated hundreds of hours of time completely free of charge – motivated purely by the desire to be of selfless service to others. This has helped to ensure that the subtl
