Who are the CPD modules for? Individuals who are qualified operators and under Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER) are required to have refresher training every 3-5 years. What do the CPD modules cover? Each CPD module will cover the appropriate practical skills required to meet legislation, industry technical standards and industry good practice. 003 - Tree Climbing and Rescue + 004 – Chainsaw from a rope and harness, Individuals attending must hold an NPTC Qualifications in Tree Climbing and Rescue + The use of a Chainsaw from a rope and harness These CPD modules are delivered by NPTC/ City & Guilds approved assessors. The skills test/assessment is optional and can be done alongside or separately at the end of training. What is issued on successful completion of a CPD module? A certificate of attendance will be issued listing the subject areas covered and any feedback from the day, this is signed by the assessor and candidate. If you have chosen the NPTC/City and Guilds CPD Assessment option: Each candidate will complete the appropriate skills test which will be scored. Each skills test has a minimum score for the CPD module to be achieved. Candidates achieving the minimum score requirement will be issued a CPD Module Digital Credential (DC) and Digital Certificate which will be sent to the registered email which is held by their NPTC Assessment Centre. The assessor will complete a feedback form on the candidate’s performance in the skills test with any recommendations required.

With this new course offered, we are condensing the previous 6 day course into 5 days, which will bring the price of the course down, plus mean less time away from work. Learning to tree climb is one of the most physically demanding units, a good power to weight ratio and head for heights is essential. There is more legislation to learn relating to working at height and learning about the equipment being used. Aerial Rescue involves bringing a casualty out of the tree and off of a pole safely, the pole rescue is carried out wearing climbing spurs/spikes. Assessment is independent for this unit.
