This fun and inclusive mixed ability skateboarding course is for girls and gender diverse young people aged 8 - 16. It is open to the wider community; participants do not need to attend Brighton Girls School to join. Come and enjoy skating in the privacy of our mobile skatepark with our ramps, rails and grind boxes; our qualified Skateboard GB coaches tailor each session to meet individuals where they are with their skateboarding, and the club is suitable for complete beginners and improvers. The club aims to introduce good skatepark etiquette, build confidence in using skateparks and nurture body confidence, resilience, kindness, boldness and appropriate risk taking. Make friends and grow your skate tribe to give you the confidence to get out enjoy public skateparks. Our coaches are insured, DBS checked and first-aid trained.

A brand new, four day skateboard progression programme with Lucy Adams and Brighton Girls Skate Club. Lucy Adams; professional skateboarder, coach, Olympic commentator and trailblazer for girls’ skateboarding will be joining Sarah Turton (formerly Brownlow) from Brighton Girls Skate Club for four focused days of coaching this August. Monday 3 - Thursday 6 August 2026 Each skater will attend the same 90 minute session across all four days: 9:30–11:00 or 11:15–12:45 Maximum eight skaters per group. The full four day programme costs £150. This is a progression programme rather than a beginners’ course. Skaters should already be able to push, ride and stop independently. They do not need to have mastered advanced tricks. We want to hear from skaters who have developed their basic confidence and are ready to work on their next steps. Rather than allocating places on a first come, first served basis, we are initially inviting Expressions of Interest. This will allow us to understand each skater’s current level, progression goals and availability before creating two carefully matched groups. Submitting this form is free and does not guarantee a place. Please only submit an Expression of Interest if your skater: Meets the minimum skating level described above Is able to attend either session time Is ready to commit to the full four day programme fee of £150 if offered a place Successful applicants will be offered a place, allocated a session time and sent a private payment link. Payment will then be required within 48 hours to secure the place.

Have you ever wanted to learn to skateboard but felt nervous about getting started? We’ve got you. This fun, inclusive 12 week course supports women and marginalised genders to begin or develop their skateboarding in a welcoming environment. Whether you have never stepped on a skateboard or are already up and rolling, our qualified Skateboard GB coaches will meet you where you are and help you progress at your own pace. No previous experience or equipment is necessary. Sessions take place in our private mobile skatepark in the Main Hall at Brighton Girls School or, weather permitting, outside on the rear netball court, using a range of ramps, rails and grind boxes. Alongside developing skateboarding skills, the course aims to help participants build confidence, resilience and boldness, take appropriate risks, make connections and grow their skate tribe. For our 12th and final session, we’ll head to Hove Lagoon Beach Park for a celebratory Christmas skate (weather permitting); a chance to put our skills into practice, enjoy skating outdoors and finish the term as a community.
