An evening of talks about games and game development. We have a small selection of speakers from in and out of the games industry sharing their wisdom. Expect talks to be around 30 minutes long. Alastair Low - New Retro Tools Alastair will be talking about new tools that make game dev for retro systems easier. Low is a veteran game developer with dozens of published titles and a keen interest in the retro scene. SUUM Studio - Save The Rave, Designing a Multiplayer Music Experience Save The Rave is an in-development PvE multiplayer co-op experience with light RPG elements, bringing the energy of rave culture to new and existing audiences. This talk shares the story behind the project, alongside the design thinking, technical experimentation, and cultural references shaping its development, as well as how we’re designing it as a shared, real-time experience where players work together inside the game. Japanese learners study group

We are currently trialling a new venue: James McCune Smith Learning Hub, University Avenue.\\\ Group Information: Evidence shows that studying in a group not only improves learning & performance, but also supports mental health. Who is this group intended for? adult Japanese learners who live in Glasgow learners who are looking for a study group learners who are looking for a supportive learning environment where they can build connections and share knowledge/resources learners who are committed to learning Japanese, and would like to find a community of like-minded people without having to book potentially expensive courses What is the group goal? provide an environment where we can support each other's learning goals provide community for adult learners who are often stuck studying alone at home provide an opportunity for learners to find study buddies provide a more study-focused alternative to language exchange groups, as there are already several options for this (both in Glasgow & online) Events We are currently running meetups up in Glasgow where we can study together. I will share learning resources, recommendations, and provide several Japanese books which can be used by anyone attending the session, but must be handed back at the end. As the group develops, we can also discuss the potential to arrange other events e.g. social catch ups, Japan-themed outings, etc.
The purpose of this group is to try and find like minded individuals who have an interest in the arts: art, exhibitions, culture, museums, stately homes, jazz, theatre, concerts, paintings and sculptures, and occasionally trips abroad. In other words, to try and be stimulated mentally and being surrounded by beautiful things.
