
Designated Safeguarding Lead, 6/11/26, 9:30-3:30, In person
This course focusses on the roles and responsibilities of the Designated Safeguarding Lead and requires participants to have previously completed basic safeguarding and child protection training. This is an accredited 1 day in-person course and meets the EYFS 2025 criteria for effective safeguarding training. Course Content Role of the Designated Safeguarding Lead. Safer recruitment and pre-appointment checks. Staff induction. Training requirements for staff and ways to embed safeguarding. Managing and recording concerns and referrals. Supporting staff. Managing allegations against staff / volunteers and dealing with low-level concerns. Features of a safe and open culture, including the process to follow for whistleblowing. Time: 9:30-3:30 Cost: £25 2 place limit per setting.
