Take a mindful pause in your weekend and join us for a gentle, restorative Somatic Session – combining principles from Somatic Experiencing®, Somatic Yoga, and Neuroscience-based nervous system regulation. These monthly sessions are designed to help you reconnect with your body, release held tension, and find a sense of steadiness and calm from within. Each class is trauma-informed, science-backed, and accessible to all – no prior yoga or somatic experience needed. We explore how the body can become an ally in moments of stress, using slow movement, breath awareness, and grounding techniques that support your nervous system to shift out of survival mode and into ease. How to book Groups are intentionally small to help you feel safe, seen, and able to participate in a way that feels manageable. For this reason, these are not drop-in sessions — RSVPing on Meetup does not secure your place. To attend, you must register directly through the Tree of Life Centre website: Sessions are facilitated by Emily Kennedy-Barnes — Mind-Body Neuroscientist, Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner, and Somatic Yoga Therapist.

BodyMirrorMind – Embodiment Class BodyMirrorMind is a 90-minute embodied movement experience inspired by Systema, yoga, dance, qigong, and years of personal training, self-inquiry, and somatic healing work. This class is not only about movement — it’s about awareness. Through breathwork, guided exploration, solo movement, and optional partner practices, we learn how our nervous system shapes the way we stand, move, relate, and respond. We explore how fear creates tension, how unmet emotions can become holding patterns in the body, and how conscious presence begins to restore fluidity and choice. You will explore: • Boundaries and communication • Self-regulation and reciprocal co-regulation • Working with others while staying connected to yourself • How emotional states subtly influence posture, breath, and movement There may be massage, yielding practices, cooperative movement games, and free expression through dance. Touch and partner work are always optional, with clear communication, consent, and respect for personal boundaries. This is not therapy. It is not performance. It is not competition. It is nervous system hygiene. It is learning to come home to your body. ⸻ Who This Class Is For This class is for anyone who wants to reconnect with their body and build deeper awareness of how they move through life.
