If you’ve always wanted to try Parkrun, but haven’t wanted to go alone, and now is your opportunity to meet some like-minded people and start yourself and you healthy habit! It’s a really fun atmosphere and they’ve had up to 850 people running before now so the vibe is high ! It’s lovely to see you soon afterwards if you’re feeling like you can manage the water or just sit on the beach and enjoy yourself. Spectators also welcome-you can just come along and enjoy the energy and cheer people along ! Fun times!!

Hello All, Come join us and mingle with a few drinks at Mrs Fitzherbert’s 🍻🥂. Please bring along £1 to help with the meetup app fees we pay for organising these events. We have set up a QR code so you can pay securely online or bring cash, whatever works for you. A link to the QR code is below: We will meet from 7pm but you can join us whenever you’re ready. If it’s your first ever meet-up, don’t be shy, we’ve all been there. We are all super friendly and we’ll take some kind of inflatable along to make us easy to identify. We will play the rest of the night by ear but we will likely be looking at exploring other places too. Some pre-emptive answers: Do I have to drink? No, it's entirely optional. I’ve not been to one of these before/I’ll be on my own - can I come? Absolutely, a lot of people will be in the same boat. What if I won’t make it for 7pm? Feel free to turn up whenever. Looking forward to meeting some new faces (and hopefully some returning ones too! We hope to see you there!

Meaningful Conversations – Brighton & Hove

Brighton & Hove

Sat
📍 BN1 3AJ · Brighton postcode area

Hi everyone, Thanks for joining! This group has been set up for anyone who enjoys deeper conversations and is looking to make new friends in Brighton & Hove. What To Expect: Our events are facilated and we'll bring a collection of fun conversation cards to help prompt and encourage meaningful conversations. This takes the awkwardness out of getting to know new people in a group and allows conversations to flow easily. Events last 3 hours, and during this time you'll be put into groups of 4-5, with groups being rotated every 45 minutes to allow you to meet new people. You can stay for as long or as little or as you'd like, there's no pressure to stay for the full time. Event Location: Events will take place outdoors in the gardens of Brighton's Royal Pavillion, in the section opposite Brighton Museum and Victoria Gardens - please use the map pin on the event. We'll also have a sign propped up so that you can find us easily. What You Need To Bring To The Events: Nothing other than your lovely selves, but if you'd also like to bring a picnic blanket and a few snacks that would be great, as Zara and I will be doing that too. Inclusion & Safeguarding: We are LGTBQIA+ friendly, neurodivergent friendly, pet friendly and welcoming of all people from different backgrounds, genders, ethnicities and ages. We only ask that you are respectful and kind towards others, and that if you do bring a pet they are well-behaved and friendly. Any discriminatory behaviour will not be tolerated. Event Cost: Events are free as we get this idea up and running, as we'd like to build a community around this first. Thank you and we look forward to meeting you! Ali and Zara

Brighton Lesbians Social Meetup Group

Fri
📍 BN1 3AJ · Brighton postcode area

The Brighton Lesbians Social (formally the Over 35s Lesbian & Queer Women’s group) is a self-organised and funded group for women who identify as lesbian, bi & trans who live authentically as lesbian. This is a social group for both single women & couples alike who are mainly mid 40s & over. The group hosts a variety of regular & one-off events such as pub meet-ups, café get-togethers, cinema, theatre events, & the occasional club night. There are also various outdoor activities such as walks, bike rides & camping outings ... and much more! (further details are available on the event calendar). Some events are open to friends and family. Anyone joining this group is asked to submit a photograph of themselves. This enables both event hosts & members, to know who is attending & makes the event space more welcoming. The group are always looking for new event hosts and all members are invited to make suggestions for future events. Please contact the organisers if you're interested in helping out. In order to cover the costs of running the group, there is an annual membership fee of US$15 (approx £10 after MeetUp fees) with a trial period of 30 days. This covers the overhead costs (e.g. MeetUp platform annual fees, which have increased significantly over the past few years). PLEASE NOTE these fees are only for this group and MeetUp will also ask if your want to join them too for their professional membership, this does not gain you membership to this group so I would suggest you don’t. Events are generally free to attend but if there are admissions charges (galleries/cinema etc) the event host will mention this in the event post. The group is committed to hosting events where all members can meet & feel comfortable together. By signing up as a member you agree to the group’s guidelines, which you can get by request from any of the group’s organisers. Messages and group chats are moderated & anything posted by members that may be inappropriate or offensive to others will be deleted.
