Managing Stress & Anxiety – Brighton & Hove

Sun
📅 Every sunday
📍 BN3 4JA

This group offers a monthly space to explore gentle, science-informed mind-body practices that support stress, anxiety, and nervous system overwhelm. Each session blends Somatic Experiencing®, somatic yoga principles, and applied neuroscience to help you reconnect with your body, steady your mind, and understand your stress responses with more clarity and compassion. The purpose is to provide a calm and supportive environment where you can slow down, regulate, and learn tools that genuinely make a difference in day-to-day life. Anyone who experiences stress, anxiety, tension, feeling "stuck" in their body, or simply wants a more grounded relationship with themselves is welcome. You don't need any experience with yoga or somatic work — the sessions are gentle, trauma-informed, and accessible to all bodies and all levels of emotional readiness. These sessions offer a quiet moment of nervous system support in a world that often feels too fast, too demanding, or overwhelming. You'll learn mind-body tools drawn from neuroscience, trauma physiology, and somatic therapy — practices you can take with you into daily life. How to book Groups are intentionally small to help you feel safe, seen, and able to participate in a way that feels manageable. For this reason, these are not drop-in sessions — RSVPing on Meetup does not secure your place. To attend, you must register directly through the Tree of Life Centre website: Sessions are facilitated by Emily Kennedy-Barnes — Mind-Body Neuroscientist, Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner, and Somatic Yoga Therapist.

Brighton Life Transitions & Identity Shifts

Sun
📅 Every sunday
📍 BN1 4AN

Brighton Life Transitions & Identity Shifts is a supportive community for people feeling lost after life changes. This group is for anyone navigating a major transition – burnout, career change, breakup, relocation, grief, health changes, identity shifts, or the deeper feeling that life no longer fits in the way it used to. Often, the hardest part of change is not just what has happened externally. It is the inner shift that follows: questioning who you are now, what matters, what you want, and how to move forward without rushing into answers that do not feel true. This group offers regular spaces to slow down, reflect, connect, and feel less alone in the messy middle of change. Events may include: Sharing circles. Reflective discussion. Journaling prompts. Gentle grounding or meditation. * Philosophical conversations about identity, meaning, change, and self-trust. You do not need to have everything figured out to join. This is for the in-between: when the old chapter has ended, but the new one has not fully formed yet. The group is facilitated by Rob Hemsley, an Identity & Transition Coach based in Brighton & Hove. This is a reflective community space, not therapy or crisis support. If you are in acute distress or need mental health support, please seek appropriate professional help.

Pet Loss Support Group: share your grief in a safe space💛

Wed
📅 1 Jul 2026
📍 BN1 1FS

We're so sorry for your loss. We know how much it hurts 😢 Losing a beloved pet is never easy 🌈 💛 Are you feeling lost, alone and overwhelmed by grief, with no one to talk to who truly understands? 💛 Do you find yourself wondering how to cope with the excruciating pain, sadness, confusion and guilt that comes with losing a companion who was so much more than just a pet? 💛 Are you desperate for compassion and a safe space to share how you feel and be truly seen in your time of need? 💛 Would you like to connect with others who ‘get it’ and who’ve walked this painful journey, without any judgement? If this is you, know that this Pet Loss Support Group is here for you. Our supportive and understanding group is a safe space for healing. Losing a pet, your loyal companion and a cherished member of your family, is one of the most heartbreaking experiences you’ll ever face in life.  We understand how this loss can affect your heart and life. We’ve been there too. Grieving a pet is real and just as painful as losing a human loved one, even if the world doesn't always recognise it. We do. Your precious companion has guided you here for a reason. In our Pet Loss Support Group, YOU ARE NOT ALONE! How We Support You  We offer two ways to support you through your grief: 💻 Weekly Online Support Sessions A compassionate, safe space to share, listen, or simply be among others who ‘get it’.  🌿 Monthly In-Person “Walk Our Grief” Meetups (UK) Gentle, supportive walks in nature where you can connect with other grieving pet parents and feel less alone.  You’re welcome to join either or both. Whatever feels right for you. What Grieving Pet Parents Say ✨"This group and its members have helped me carry on with the healing process. There’s the opportunity to share my story with people on a similar journey. The kindness and companionship of people who "get it" is invaluable. There’s no judgement here, only compassion for the grief you're feeling." David lost his Greyhound, Jen ✨"This group has been the single most important thing I’ve done that has helped me deal with the loss of Bear. The group is brilliant and has been a lifesaver for me. The group has helped me come to terms with Bear's passing and given me comfort and support when I was at my absolute lowest point. In the early stages of my grief, it was very reassuring to know that this group was there for me." Rich lost his cat, Bear Why This Group Was Created In February 2023, my heart was shattered when I lost Tilly, my 13-year-old Yorkie. Tilly was my baby, my angel, and the love of my life. She taught me the meaning of love. How to receive love and how to give love. She was the bravest girl I ever knew 🐶 When Tilly passed, I felt so alone and unsure how to navigate my grief. I felt like people (especially non-pet parents) just didn't understand my pain and what I was going through. I didn't want anyone else to feel like this, so I decided to turn my pain into purpose. With this isolating feeling and sadness in my heart, I decided to create this group to support others.  My mission is to reach as many people as possible with compassion and understanding so that no one goes through the pain of losing a pet alone. I hope that one day you'll feel stronger and be able to look back on the beautiful life you shared with your adored animal companion, but one step at a time. There's no timeline for grief and no right or wrong way to grieve. So, come join us, share your feelings, make new friends and be supported on your pet loss journey among others who ‘get it’. You deserve to heal your heart. We hope to meet you soon. In the meantime, please be kind to yourself 🙏🏼 RSVP Request To keep the group safe and supportive, spaces are limited. If you're unable to attend, please update your RSVP so someone else can join. Disclaimer This group is created as a safe space for you to share your feelings about your pet loss journey. This is not therapy. I’m not a trained counsellor, therapist, or psychologist. I’m just like you, a grieving pet parent. If you require professional support, please contact your GP or another trusted health professional. With love, Sonia 💛
