Learn how to 'draw' with your sewing machine. You will be shown how to use a basic domestic sewing machine and practice foliage and flower stitching techniques. Then, working on a background of layered fabrics, you will design and create a small, individual flower meadow picture, with freehand machine embroidery and applied fabrics. Be inspired to have a go on your own machine at home. No experience necessary. Come and join Susan for this decorative floral free-motion stitched workshop. Learn how to add free motion stitch and apply colour to the fabric with threads and fabric. Some knowledge of how to use your sewing machine will be required, but Susan will gently guide you through this exciting technique. Using the free templates as your guide is a great way to start your free-motion stitching journey. Please bring your own sewing machine, it must be able to drop the feed dogs. You will also require a machine embroidery/darning foot/free motion foot. and sewing cotton reels in green and or brown. White or black is also acceptable for practicing. All other materials will be provided. Tea and coffee will be included in the workshop.

A sewing club for everyone This is a class for anyone over 11 years who has the capacity to understand instructions given to them by the tutor and are not requiring one-to-one supervision. Crafting instruments including sharp scissors and pokey tools will be used and we ask that you abide by health and safety instructions given by the tutor. Aprons and art sleeves are available. You may bring your own crafting instruments if they are clearly marked with your initials. The management accept no responsibility for the loss or damage of personal items brought to the workshops. We adhere to GDPR procedures regarding your personal data and CCTV recordings. We will not sell or supply third parties with any of your information.
