A class just for glazing. If you've been to a taster session and wanted to glaze your work yourself or need to catch up on glazing from weekly sessions at the Clay Half, you can do that here. With guidance from one of our experienced pottery tutors you will have a couple of hours to use our range of in house glazes and underglazes to decorate and finish your work. We then re-fire it before it's ready to collect, this is usually done within a week of the glaze class you attended.

The class each week will start with preparation of the clay for throwing. Then following a demonstration of throwing technique by the tutor, you will be given your own wheel to work on, guided and supported with improving your technique through the stages of throwing pots on a wheel. You will learn to work with different weights of clay, progressing to different forms and adding handles if required. At the end of the making session you can choose your best pots to be kept and turned before they are turned, fettled and fired. The cost of classes includes tuition, clay and firing as well as use of tools, aprons and tea/coffee!
