Richmond Furniture Scheme are a local furniture recycling charity based in the borough of Richmond. Their philosophy is to help those in need in the community to access quality furniture at a reasonable price. They welcome donations of furniture that you no longer need and also hope that you will want to come and browse in their showroom. Additionally, in support of their sustainable objectives, RFS run a workshop called Carousel where they give new life to once-loved furniture by repairing and up-cycling selected pieces. Their objectives are supporting Poverty, Environment and Unemployment. We've started a regular partnership with RFS whereby we will help them every three months. Tasks will vary but will involve things such as clearing up the outside yard, piecing together bedframes with no instructions, repairing or painting furniture and upcycling various objects. This should definitely be a fun one! Any support will be greatly appreciated by all involved! First timers are more than welcome and this is a great task to see what we are all about! Tools will be provided. If you're happy to be involved with painting, you may want to wear clothes/trainers that you don't mind getting tainted with a bit of paint! Meeting point is at 1A Fortescue Avenue, Twickenham, TW2 5LS. We can be found in Fortescue Avenue, a cul-de-sac, off Turner Avenue between Fielding Avenue and Twining Avenue on the Staines Road and Sixth Cross Road. Buses: 490, H22, 110, 267, 281, R70. Train stations: Fulwell, Twickenham (connect by bus 267 and 281)

You are registered on this group if you are interested in what’s happening at the Tiny Forest Barnet. I will send out emails every so often to remind you about what is happening. If you want to know more or seek clarification please ring me on . Planting completed on the 24th of February with the help of Earthwatch, Barnet Council and most importantly lots of local people. On again on the 26th March 2025 3 more experimental tiny forests were planted. Three different techniques and different plant types used. Thank you to those who have helped support the Tiny Forest creation. Now it’s time to nurture and study how the trees grow. using citizen science uploading data to Earthwatch. This will involve regular activities through the calendar year. Looking to engage the local community with citizen science and other environmental activities. The location is Henlys corner junction of A406 and the Finchley Road Here is a precise what3words address, ///added.pink.opens A Tiny Forest is a dense and rapidly growing native woodland in a small area. It will provide a protected habitat for wildlife, capture carbon, filter the air of harmful particulates and reduce flooding and soil loss. Besides these important local effects, it is symbolic of our need to protect our wider environment and it is hoped it will provide an education and emotional engagement of our community. It’s also something that we will have to physically nurture as a group. Its a great fit for Goodgym! These initiatives are gaining popularity across the UK, with organisations like EarthWatch ( and The Conservation Volunteers ( getting involved. If you have ideas about how to promote this planting to the community please also get in touch. We want schools,

We're catching the 8:48 am train from Stratford International (note this is not the same as Stratford underground station), which arrives into Hastings 10:10am (changing at Ashford International). The walk itself should take about 6 hours. However, timings can vary (and this doesn't include breaks, which we will definitely take!) so we recommend buying an anytime return. The return ticket will cover the return journey from Rye back to Stratford. Please bring a packed lunch, snacks, and water and check the forecast beforehand to ensure you have appropriate clothing/footwear. Walk details:

The Clocktower Festival is a beloved annual event in Islington’s Caledonian Park, bringing together residents for a day of fun, learning, and community connection. With four key pillars Fun Learning, Togetherness, Health & Wellbeing, and Community Partnerships the festival offers engaging activities, workshops, and entertainment while fostering social cohesion and reducing isolation. They are after volunteers to help run the festival. They require litter pickers, help with set up and queue management assistance. The Clocktower Festival was established in 2015 by Southern Housing (SH) and became a community tradition with entertainments, stalls and local musicians. From 2016 to 2019, it was funded by SH and organised by a committee including SH, Clock tower Resident Group (CRG)!Caledonian Park Friends group(CPFG) and Islington Council GreenSpace. Following a successful relaunch by CRG and CPFG in 2024 we had over 3,000 attendees and so the festival returned last year also and was a huge success again. This year we have a focus on ‘Heritage’ and aim to expand with more artistic showcases, and affordable local food. Flexible timings so join for as long as you can

Welcome to GoodGym Bexley! We're a friendly group that combines exercise with practical help for local community organisations and charities. Every Wednesday evening we get together and head to an organisation to complete a physical task that makes a real difference. Afterwards we often go to a nearby pub or café for some social time together. To get there this week we are offering an optional group walk. We'll go at a pace that keeps the group together, and no one is ever left behind. 🎯The task We're heading to Days Lane Primary School this week and next to lend a hand with a couple of jobs that will make a real difference for pupils and staff. We will be painting some brand-new sheds, helping to keep them protected from the elements and looking smart for years to come. We'll also be clearing an overgrown patch of ground that's become home to weeds, brambles and nettles. The teachers are particularly keen for us to clear it out, as footballs regularly end up in there and no-one enjoys having to battle through prickly plants to retrieve them! Gardening gloves 🧤 are strongly recommended. Other equipment and tools will be provided. 📍When and where Please leave a message below to tell us if you are going direct to the task or joining the group walk. Meeting at the task – 7:00pm Days Lane Primary School, Days Lane, Sidcup DA15 8JU Join the group walk – 6:30pm Sidcup Leisure Centre, Hurst Road, Sidcup DA15 9AE It's about 2.5 km to the task, with everyone staying together whatever their pace. After we've finished, we'll walk back together to Sidcup Leisure Centre, or you're welcome to make your own way home.

We will be meeting Jess and her team to help sort clothes into categories to help them get ready for the next clothes exchange. The project takes place in Union Street, which is nice and close to The Showroom Cinema, meaning a short run and a decent amount of time being able to help the project out! We have been asked to help with the Job Fair, at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where people from the public will be coming to find out about different job opportunities and to speak to employers. GoodGymers are asked to be on hand to greet the people attending the fair, to help them sign in and to show them to where they need to go. You will need to be confident in speaking in English to members of the public. Please wear your red GoodGym shirts as it helps us to be easily identifiable as volunteers and helpers. You will need to be confident speaking in English to the people who attend. Matt Johnson will meet us at the community centre and give you guidance to the tasks. Volunteers can also speak to the employers and see what might be available for them if they are job hunting. GoodGymers will need to make their own arrangements to get to the venue.
