St Paul's church in the Jewellery Quarter have requested our help with their annual fete. It’s a community event and they also fundraise for Raise the Roof, their campaign to fund essential repairs to the roof of the grade I listed building. Its completely organised and supported by volunteers and a few local sponsors Setting up trestle tables and chairs and hanging bunting. Then throughout the day litter picking, manning the bouncy castle and a golf putting activity for which we charge people a small amount to take part. And the end of the fete, taking everything back down and tidying up. They need help from 8am-6pm, but anytime you can lend will be appreciated, if you can do 1 hour that would be great :) 5pm - 6pm they need as many volunteers as possible to help clear up, so feel free just to come for that period. If you would like to help out, please sign up and email Jonny at so I can let Claudine at the church know what time you'll be available from and till.

This is an exciting new task. We will be helping out at the the East Birmingham Community Forum, next to Summerfield Park. The dance studio needs a good facelift, so they'll be some cleaning and painting. The Forum are also providing us with pizza and cold drinks :) For those who'd like to do a run we'll be meeting at the Good Intent at 6pm and running around 3k to the venue, before running back fuelled with pizza! If you'd like to meet at the task the postcode is B18 4EJ, please arrive for 6.30pm.

We will meet at Strichley Baths for a run which will involve posting to community boards in the area to inform the locals of the Stirchley Kids Streets Design Project. This could also involve Laura taking photos to feedback on barriers the locals may have to walking, wheeling and cycling in the area. More details soon!! However it seems unlikely there will be any walking, but the running will be at a relaxed pace to get the tasks done. Any questions please do ask in the comments.

It makes such an impact to post leaflets about Goodgym in the local area. Volunteers keep our group going and enable us to support countless community projects and charities in Birmingham. This leafleting task will be a great chance to get your steps in, have a bit of social time and help raise awareness about the wonderful work of our Goodgym Birmingham group! Hope to see you there.

We will be painting the walls of a flat next to Brookvale Park. The charity who help vulnerable people with housing have asked for GoodGym's help. Rodger who lives there would love to paint it himself, but has mobility issues. Please come along and help at this very fulfilling task :)
