Iffley Glebe plays a vital role in maintaining the rural atmosphere of Iffley. The glebe is full of wildflowers each summer and the ancient hedge across the field provides birds with nesting places, and insects and berries for food. At night the glebe is an important hunting ground for bats and owls. Iffley Glebe is not open to the public, so this is a rare chance to see it and contribute to it's upkeep. Tasks will include: Weeding along the wall to prepare it for repairs. Meadow maintenance - most likely getting rid of nettles and self seeded sycamores. Please bring your own gardening gloves. All tools will be provided by Oxford Preservation Trust. Meeting options: Anyone wishing to run to the task as a group please meet in the car park of the Richard Benson Hall, 276b Cowley Rd no later than 6pm. It's about a mile and a half to Iffley Glebe. There won’t be a bag drop available. We will take the direct route to Iffley Glebe but we can run back the scenic route along the Thames Path afterwards. If you would prefer to meet at the task please meet us outside Iffley Church Hall at 6:15pm.

The warmer weather and the end of exam season will be enjoyed by many with picnicing and outdoor fun. Unfortunately picnics and outdoor fun mean LITTER! We'll be doing a summer litter pick on Port Meadow to ensure that it is safe for the cows and horses which call it home. We can go to The Medley for pizza afterwards if people are keen to grab some dinner. Please bring your gardening gloves - they're always useful on litter picks. Bags and grabbers will be provided. Meeting Options: Non-runners meet us at Walton Well Road gate to Port Meadow at 6:15pm. Runners meet at West Oxford Community Centre on Botley Road at 6pm to run to the task.

Cutteslowe Greenhouse is a gorgeous community space nestled in the heart of Cutteslowe Park. They are gradually expanding and reopening to the public. They aim to make planting and gardening more accessible and fun and have outreach sessions with schools and the local community. The site has been closed for a number of years so there are lots of jobs needing doing to open up the space and make it more useable. In true Goodgym style we will be providing the muscle! We will help clear rubbish from various areas of the site and prepare some new raised beds. Please bring gardening gloves if you have them. Now that we’re a little more familiar with the location of this task, let’s meet at the Greenhouse gate. There will be a run after task for those who fancy it

This is a new project for us! The Well-being Garden will be launching on 26th June. The garden has been created as a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment designed to support wellbeing, mindfulness, connection, and community engagement. The aim is for it to become a valuable space for local residents, schools, community organisations, and wellbeing-focused initiatives across Oxfordshire. The garden is in need of a Goodgym flashmob. Weeding, tidying, planting and watering will be on the menu. All tools will be provided but bring some gloves if you have them.
