Who likes a nice beer? We do! Manchester has got so many good pubs, bars and brewtaps that we thought we should do a semi-regular Meetup event to try some of them out! Don't like beer? Don't drink? There are plenty of alternatives available at the venues we will be visiting so feel free to join us!

Details We meet upstairs at the Old Monkey on Portland Street every other Monday. Games start throughout the evening so get there before 7:30pm and you should be fine. Food isn't available but they are fine with you ordering a delivery or bringing food in :D We play everything from casual party games to complex strategy and euros. Everyone is welcome from beginners to hardcore enthusiasts. There's always a rules explanation and we try to help new players as they play. If you come alone or with friends we'll try to match you up with players of a suitable level, as required. We're a community-led night and though we usually have plenty of games, we can never get too many - especially games people know well enough to teach - so bring 'em, if you have 'em! WELCOME TO MANCHESTER PUBS AND BEER Hello and welcome to the Manchester Pubs and Beer Group! YOUR GROUP This is the group for anyone who likes to visit pubs and who appreciates our unique pub heritage. We try to arrange a wide variety of events which don't just concentrate on the popular bars in the obvious areas of town. Manchester Pubs and Beer is certainly the group for you if you enjoy trying different beers, ciders and perrys, but also if you prefer wine, cocktails, soft drinks or whatever and enjoy trying different pubs and bars in different places. YOUR EVENTS Each month we have a FIRST FRIDAY SOCIAL on...the first Friday of the month! We try to have one DAY OUT each month to somewhere within easy travelling distance of Manchester. We also have other pub crawls, pub quiz visits and of course visits to beer and cider festivals. YOUR SUGGESTIONS Members are welcome to suggest and host events. Pop a short note into the Discussions area of the Meetup site. YOUR FACEBOOK GROUP We have a companion Manchester Pubs and Beer Facebook group which all are welcome to join, where we can share ideas about events, pub, beer and other related news. There is also a WhatsApp group: ask about this when you attend an event. BEHAVIOUR STANDARDS The group is for people who enjoy sensible drinking, enjoy beer and enjoy pubs. There are few rules other than that you are old enough to drink legally, but we expect members to treat each other and the places we visit with respect and courtesy at all times. Abusive behaviour of any type, whether at events, in comments on the site or other social media will not be tolerated. Repeated instances will result in suspension from, or removal from, the group. The Manchester Stammtisch is a conversational social group. Our members are speaking German at various levels, from beginner to native speakers with different accents. As such we would recommend to have some knowledge of the German language when joining our events. Everybody with an interest in speaking German is welcome to join us at these meetings. If you are learning German or planning to learn at some stage in the future, you can rest assured. Learning a language is one of the most common topics in our conversations. We are happy to share our experience with learning the language and language schools in the area. If you are a student or a teacher at the University or one of the local language schools you have plenty of opportunities to practice what you have learned. We have an association with Deutsch Centre. All events are published in the group's calendar. When you RSVP to an event you will receive updates and notifications for this event. We have at least one meet up every week, unless it's a holiday season. Please always check the calendar to find out where and when we meet. We are collecting donations, suggesting £1 per person and event. The donations are used to pay the Meetup fees. Any surplus will be used to support our events. Appreciate if you have some change on you when attending events. You can as well check with the event host for other options to transfer a donation. If there are still gaps in your calendar we can fill it with other events, like Stammtisch Kino, Gallery visits, Eating out, Going out and even going on walks and hikes. And when Die Mannschaft is playing at the Euro's or the Worldcup we will find a pub to watch it on German TV. We strive to offer events that suit everyone. Visitors and regulars of the Stammtisch are welcome to suggest venues and types of events. Please speak to the event host. All members can suggest meetings and events. If you want to organise one event only or may be more you can become an Event Organiser or Co-Organiser. If you know of something related to German culture and language you can check with the organisers if we can promote such events or even go there together. When you join us we will ask you a couple of questions to introduce yourself. After you are approved if would be a good idea to check if you have enabled updates from the organisers in your Meetup App. You will be always kept in the loop about what's going on, change of locations and times and extra events and activities. Please understand that this group is not open to commercial activities, advertising or recruiting of any form. The organiser team has the permission to remove such messages or even members who are continuing with such activities. The Stammtisch Manchester is run by its members. The organiser are more regular and experienced members. It is important to us that we share our experiences and help each other to create enjoyable events and have a good time. The Sale Dining Club was established August 2012. We meet at least once a month usually on a Thursday in the Sale locality but can be Altrincham. There is no age restriction to being a member and it doesn't matter where you live. It's a very easy relaxed group. Everyone is welcoming so on your first time no worries. To join we just ask that you submit a recent recognizable photo of yourself. At each meal you attend on a Thursday there is a sub of £2 which goes help towards fees of the a Meetup site. At the end of the evenings you pay for what you have had + we leave a 10% gratuity service thank you so we're welcomed back another day.
