We will be meeting with Angela and her team at Arbourthorne Community Primary School to help with 'The Growing Project'. The Growing Project on site at the school is a great project, engaging staff and students to grow, cook and eat local sustainable food. We'll be helping to make their new cooking space more inviting by bringing in the light. A dense thicket needs a path making through it to bring light to the Flourish kitchen area - there will still be plenty of habitat left for the resident birds and wildlife. Please bring your own gloves if you have them. It's a hilly run to the school, so if this is a challenge and you want to walk or cycle and meet us there then please feel free. Just let us know and still sign up!

Common Thread are a community-based organisation operating in and around Sheffield, South Yorkshire who organise regular clothes exchanges to help reduce, reuse and recycle clothes, give wardrobes a re-fresh and help to provide an alternative to nasty unsustainable fast fashion. We will be meeting Jess and her team to help sort clothes into categories to help them get ready for the next clothes exchange. The project takes place in Union Street, which is nice and close to The Showroom Cinema, meaning a short run and a decent amount of time being able to help the project out! Address: Union St 18-20 Union Street Sheffield S1 2JP Risks: Anyone who suffers with dust allergies might want to bring antihistamines due to the clothing fibres the building is old and has many flights of stairs, the toilets are on the second floor. Now in its 10th year, SpBR is a 24 hour event that shows solidarity with those suffering in Palestine and raises money for Palestinian women's and children's charities. You can take part various ways: by running or walking the course as few or many times as you like in the 24 hour relay by volunteering to marshal by joining the group choir for the "big sing" at the end Links to take part in all the above here ( and more info at This is an event that GG Sheffield has supported from the beginning and it would be great to have a good showing for their 10th year!

Come help out Support Dogs Sheffield with their Pre-loved sale. Raising money whilst recycling vintage, retro and designer clothes, books, puzzles and more! Tasks may include supporting the set up of the event, sorting stock and setting it out on tables for sale, taking payments (although this isn't essential), directing people to our entrance and take down at the end of the day. Support Dogs staff will be onhand to support. Tea, coffee and biscuits available! You will get first dibs on anything for sale! Come and give any time you have. Set up will be 11am-1pm and take down 4-5pm. Why not join me for a cycle there and/or breakfast beforehand? Please comment what time you are planning to attend from and to so I can let the referrers know.
