Liverpool Vegan Social

📍 L1 4ED

Everyone is welcome in this group, it is a safe space for vegans to socialise with other vegans. For us veganism is more than just a diet, it’s a way of life. If you are not vegan and come along to an event, you may be asked some uncomfortable questions. Almost every day we are asked ‘why don’t you eat meat’. So in our space we will ask ‘why do you still eat meat’ and we will explain why animal agriculture is cruel and bad for the planet. We also have a Whatsapp group. Everyone is welcome to join but you must attend a few events first to get to know everyone. Ask an organiser when attending an event.

The Society of Bibliophiles

Sun
📅 Every sunday
📍 L1 3DS

Welcome to The Society of Bibliophiles! We meet once a month to celebrate our shared love of books, authors, and meaningful conversation. This society is built for readers, and we welcome everyone, regardless of genre, language, or reading style. Each month, a theme is announced, and you’re free to read any book that fits within it. When we gather, we dive deeper into thoughtful discussions, share perspectives, and explore the books. At the end of each meet-up, we reveal the theme for the following month. If you happen to love someone else’s book, you can also take part in an optional book swap. A lovely way to discover something new and keep the conversation going beyond the meet-up. This is a space grounded in safety, comfort and curiosity. You are welcome to join simply to listen and enjoy a cup of coffee! No pressure to speak. Come solo or bring a +1. All readers belong here.

The Usual Spot

Sun
📅 16 Aug 2026
📍 L5 8TY

The Usual Spot is a casual, no-agenda hangout for people who like a bit of substance in their socialising think the kind of people who'd enjoy a philosophy group, but without wanting every meet up to be a seminar. We get together to talk, watch things, play things, argue about things. Sometimes the conversation drifts into deeper or philosophical territory; sometimes it's just chat about whatever's going on. What to expect at events: low-key, regular meetups, could be a pub session, a film, a game night, or just sitting around talking. Usually somewhere central in Liverpool(around Concert Square and nearby), with the exact spot confirmed per event. No fixed structure, no lectures, no obligation to contribute intellectually if you're not feeling it that day. Who should join: Anyone who enjoys good conversation and doesn't need a strict theme to have a good time, curious, easygoing people who like to think out loud sometimes but mostly just want decent company. No prior knowledge or interest in philosophy required. Fees: free to join, no membership dues or event fees. Affiliation: Independent, not affiliated with any business, society, or organisation.
