Ladies of Oxford who are Fabulously over 40

Thu
📅 11 Jun 2026
📍 OX2 6DW

Hello - if you’re living in Oxford and fancy growing your social circle, get in touch! Over 40- or there abouts - make new female friends, great chat & support, and the opportunity to try new places to eat. No agendas, just a group that can be what you need it to be. If that’s dipping in and out, being a regular part of the organising, or a place that you can escape to for some ‘you’ space. If you feel more comfortable meeting on a one to one before - to be introduced and not walk into a group alone - then there are all sorts of options. This can be however and whatever it needs to be, to work and include everyone. There will always be a friendly face, a drink (coffee, tea or a glass of the good stuff) and a very warm welcome! It's sometimes hard to beg places to hold us all - especially when there are SO many of us - so making sure I don't mess venues around with numbers, is really important. For as you can guess, dealing with 20 or so ladies all wanting to order and pay individually for coffee, tea, wine, food possibly, isn't always very alluring to places! So change your RSVP to 'not attending' please, if you can't come! It's easy to do on your phone, tablet, PC etc - Thank you!

Climate Café

📅 17 May 2026
📍 OX2 7JN

Welcome to our monthly climate cafes: gentle facilitated spaces where we share our feelings and thoughts about the climate crisis. We think our Climate Cafés offer something different from the usual gatherings of people with interests in climate change. They are facilitated – so you can be sure that there will be space for you to speak. They are not designed to recruit you to do anything or to put you under any pressure. The idea behind them is that talking about climate change is really important – but it is often made more difficult by our feelings of guilt that we are not doing enough, or frustration that others are not doing enough. So we provide a space in which we don’t talk about what we or others are doing or should be doing. We just talk about climate change and how it is making us think and feel. Everyone is welcome. There's no charge. The facilitators provide the cake and Low Carbon Oxford North pays for our hot drinks. Climate cafés are not drop-in events, so please try to arrive in time for the 14.30 start (though we won't turn you away if you're a few minutes late!). Age limit of 16+. These climate cafés are hosted by Low Carbon Oxford North. Read more about climate cafés in The Guardian or in Rebecca Nestor's blog post or in this BBC article.

Oxfordshire Vegans and Vegetarians

All agesSun
📅 17 May 2026
📍 OX2 6BS

Our monthly-ish central Oxford brunch. The cafe is open most weeks so do feel free to drop in on a different Saturday, but this is the provisional date for April. Tasty vegan or vegetarian brunch, a few different options (main items: hash brown, beans, vegan sausage (sometimes replaced by scrambled tofu), spinach and mushroom, tomato, toast, egg for veggies) - very reasonably priced. Feel free to bring any additional snacks you'd like - I will try to bring a few vegan items, hummous, avocado, possibly kimchi. Sometimes there's a walk afterwards if the weather's OK - this month people may be interested in the Oxford Connect Social Walk: https://www.meetup.com/oxford-connect/events/313410511/

Sign up before the event starts at http:// www.thesocialsport.com. 📍 Oxford High School, Belbroughton Rd, Oxford OX2 6XA ⏰ Every Thursday, 7-8:30pm All equipment is provided. The event cost is £9.50. Who are Social Sport? Social Sport was set up to face two main challenges in cities like Oxford: Limited opportunities for those moving here to meet new people and socialise genuinely. Lack of casual sports clubs for young professionals. We started with our New Sport Every Week session, voted for by people in our community. Since then, we have played over 21 different sports, and we play weekly sports too, which are set up based on feedback from those who join our events! Please note this session is popular and has a set number of places. If you do not secure your place prior to attending, and the event is full, you will not be able to play.

Money Mindset

Tue
📅 23 Jun 2026
📍 OX3 8QP

The rules have changed. The Financial plan used to be easy. Finish University debt free, waltz into a job for life, buy an affordable house and retire with a guaranteed income for life. We are getting next to nothing in savings from the bank, don't have the time or quality information to invest and the retirement cliff edge of pensioner poverty is fast approaching. I help to solve these problems. I am looking to build a community about learning better financial guidance principles We believe that investing should be accessible for the many rather than a privileged few. Money Tipps empower you to make your own choices with your money rather than charging you for financial advice, which means we save you £1000s. Neil Doig is the author of the book Millennial Money Mindset: If you want the fruits you need the roots, which was shortlisted by the Financial Times Bracken Bower Prize. Neil is the Founder of Money Tipps, an Edtech and money coaching company. We believe in better education, money coaching and empowering you to make better money decisions. We all want something better in life. Maybe that is more time in your day, more money in your pocket or less stress in your life. Let us help you to achieve it!

📍 OX4 1HU

In a nutshell Climate cafés are an incredibly simple idea. They’re opportunities to meet with facilitators and talk about our thoughts and feelings on climate change. The organisers provide a space, facilitators, and some cake; you arrive at the start time (good to be prompt if you can), get yourself a hot drink and join in. You can come to one Climate Café or several. Everyone is welcome. There’s no charge. At a climate café the organisers won’t be giving out any information or expecting you to change your lifestyle or opinions, or do anything except listen and talk with each other. Why climate cafés? It can be difficult to talk about climate change with friends and family, and climate cafés are designed to provide a space to do just that - with no pressure, no debate and no judgement. What’s the background? Climate cafés in Oxford originated with Low Carbon Oxford North and they are now run and hosted across the UK and elsewhere, with facilitator training provided by the Climate Psychology Alliance. Stay in touch You can follow us on Instagram and Facebook as well as joining this group. Magic Moments With Birds

Thu
📅 25 Jun 2026
📍 OX1 3PJ

Magic Moments With Birds offers dedicated birdwatching outings for those who want to discover more of the superb birdlife of our area and beyond. Whilst based in Oxfordshire and covering many of the best local birdwatching sites, we also aim to go further afield and some of our trips will entail day or half-day excursions. Occasionally I lead birdwatching breaks in other parts of the country, and I offer places to members of this group on these. At the end of our time together my aim is that you leave with memories of an exceptional encounter with nature and a desire to discover more about our wonderful birdlife. Anyone is welcome to join, although the excursions are aimed at the beginner/intermediate level rather than at the expert. It will be helpful if you're able to bring your own binoculars (a spare pair may sometimes be available). At some Meetups if you have a telescope it would be useful to bring it, although I will have one with me. Sometimes you will also be asked to bring your own packed lunch, and bringing something to drink is always advised. Meetup fees will vary according to the outing grade: GRADE 1 \- usually a shorter time and distance\, often local \(£7.50 minimum donation). GRADE 2 \- sometimes a longer time and usually a further distance away from Oxford \(£10). There is also a SELECT BIRDWATCHING group option, where numbers will be limited in order to give participants a more focussed birdwatching experience. These will be marked as GRADE 2\* (£10). Occasionally short breaks away will be a different fee. When booking please make sure that you are DEFINITELY ABLE to make the trip; unmet fees will be liable if I am unable to fill your place on the event. Payment is by Bank Transfer when booking \- details are posted on each event page\. \(If this method is a problem for you please private message Andrew \(group organiser\) beforehand\)\. You will need to arrange your own transport to get to the Meet

Welcome to Oxford Social Circle Plus 👋🏼🥳 The OSC+ is an additional group designed specifically for our most regular and active members from the Oxford Social Circle. While the main group focuses on broad outreach, OSC+ allows regular members to attend and organise events with a much more casual vibe. Membership Requirements 🔒📋 To maintain the quality and reliability of this smaller circle, we have enforced entry requirements: The "Rule of Three": You must have attended at least three events with the Oxford Social Circle before your request to join is considered for acceptance. Proven Reliability and Responsibility: Whilst our events are designed to be more casual, some of them will require deposits and/or charges if a reserved space is not taken. Therefore, you must have a reliable RSVP record, as well as agree to taking full responsibility for any potential costs withdrawing from an event after the RSVP deadline may lead to. Overall, since a majority of faces already know each other, the atmosphere will be more relaxed, similar to catching up with old friends.

BMW Club Oxford Motorcycle Riders

Wed
📅 27 May 2026
📍 OX1 3PJ

Are you a BMW motorcycle owner living in the Oxford area? Are you interested in riding more, especially during the week? Are you interested in meeting other BMW motorcycle owners and finding out more about BMW motorcycles? Well, we may have something for you with our ‘BMW Club Oxford Motorcycle Riders’ Meetup group. This is a new initiative organised by the BMW Club Oxford with the aim of supporting Thames Valley Air Ambulance (TVAA). The group is open to any BMW motorcycle owners, you don’t need to be a BMW Club member (although we hope you will be able to join the club after 2-3 rides to take advantage of all the other benefits!) - just join the Meetup group and then come along to one of the rides or events. Pillions and riders are very welcome to attend any of the events. We will mostly be doing mid-week rides led by experienced riders with a couple of hours riding and a stop for food. The numbers on each ride will be limited to about 12 so that we can ensure the quality of the event. We may organise some events during the year, these are likely to be a ‘ride in’ format so we can open them to more riders. Thames Valley Air Ambulance provides a life-saving rescue service to motorcyclists and others. If you feel moved to make an entirely voluntary donation of £2 towards their survival, there will be an opportunity to do so. You should not treat the aforementioned as an obligation to make a donation to this wonderful emergency service During rides, subject to numbers, we will use the Drop-Off (sometimes called the Corner-Man or 2nd man drop-off) system to mark changes of direction. Please view :   (  ). The Drop-Off system is very reliable but for small groups we may use the Buddy System where r
