Today’s circular walk takes us along some of Oxford’s waterways. Starting at Oxford station, we’ll briefly walk along the road towards the Thames Path, which we turn onto to follow towards Godstow. Here, we’ll cross over the bridge to The Trout Inn, where we plan to have our lunch stop as well as an optional pint for those who want one. After lunch, we’ll walk through Lower Wolvercote towards the Oxford Canal, which we turn onto back towards Oxford City Centre via Jericho and Worcester College. To get back to our starting point, we’ll briefly walk along the same road as earlier to finish the walk back at Oxford station. For those who want a pint at the end of the walk, we’ll be stopping at The Holly Bush, which is a short walk from the station. Oxfordshire STARS Walks, Social Nights, Trek Weekends  and Charitable Events Our aim is to contribute to health and well-being by providing walks, social nights, trek weekends and raising funds for cancer and other worthy charitable causes. Our group is made up of a friendly bunch of individuals. Some who enjoy the great outdoors, some who enjoy socialising and others who like to support our charity work.  We like to bring people together in a fun and happy environment and a strong emphasis is put on being supportive, respectful and kind to one another. WALKING For those people who are not currently walking but who are considering improving their health and well-being walking is an ideal way to start. Our walks are generally between 4 to 12 miles long with the majority of walks being in the 6-8 mile range.  Our short and longer walks usually take place during the summer months.  We run Charity Trek weekends twice a year.  Please check our calendar for more information or contact Nicky. Please ensure you have a reasonable level of fitness before embarking on a walk. Please also remember to bring your waterproofs, good walking boots or trek sandals, sun hats, sun cream, insect repellent, water, snacks and cameras (depending on the time of year). To help cover the cost of this site we ask our walkers to contribute £2 per walk.  Any surplus funds are used to support our charity fundraising  expenses (e.g. photocopying, postage, stationery, laminates, raffle tickets, bingo books, prizes etc.). SOCIAL EVENTS Our Social and Charity Events provide a chance for people to make new friends while raising money for a worthy cause.  Any donations of raffle prizes are always very welcome. We currently organise social nights, quiz nights, bands, dinners and our annual New Years Eve Party. Our two chosen charities for 2018 are Marie Curie Cancer Care and The Royal British Legion.
