Shelves bursting with unwanted reads? Keen to make some bookish friends? Searching for that obscure final novel in a series but can’t quite get your hands on it? Come join us for a Book Exchange! Whether you're new to York or a local eager to expand your social circle, this event is aimed primarily at people in their 20s and 30s and offers a welcoming atmosphere to connect with like-minded individuals. 🤔 How does the exchange work? 📖 The aim is to bring at least one book you no longer want and return with a read that piques your interest. The swap doesn’t have to be direct. All books will be on the table and you can have your pick. If there are any leftover at the end you’re welcome to take an extra one otherwise they’ll be donated to charity. Books can be any genre - fiction, non fiction. Just as long as they’re in a readable state 📚What else to Expect💬 An afternoon of chatting all things books and making new friends over a cup of tea or coffee. Hopefully a new book or two! ☕️Food and Drink 🍪 Tea and coffee will be available for a small donation that will go the directly to The Blue House Bookshop. Please feel free to bring your own hot beverages and snacks. North and South is just opposite the book shop and they do top notch coffees. 📍Where is it?🗺️ We’re delighted to be hosting the event in The Blue House Bookshop - a wonderful indie bookshop crammed with a multitude of interesting reads. To help support this local business (who have kindly loaned us the space for free!) we encourage you to donate here on the day or buy a book outside of the swap. You can find it to the right of York Art Gallery as you walk through Bootham Bar. One of us will be at the door to meet you on arrival.
