GAME ON! Come along and join Rob and other members for a fun games night at the Holy Redeemer Church Hall on Boroughbridge Road. There will some games there like Ticket to Ride, Catan and Pandemic and classics such as chess and scrabble but if you've got a favourite you'd like to bring then the more the merrier. There will be tea, coffee and light refreshments available too. This event is for Men only as it is hosted by Menfulness, the mens mental health charity. As always this is a safe, chilled out, judgement free environment where we aim to meet each other where we're at, and support each other to where we want to be. There's no expectation for you to share, but if you do then remember we all have our own stuff going on, so please lead with kindness and respect. There's no charge for this event but if you'd like to support us on the night with a donation towards refreshments/room hire then we'd be really grateful! There's Plenty of on site parking available too and a bus stop just over the road

Thursday Night Football @ York Sport Village Join us every Thursday evening from 8:00–10:00pm for a friendly and welcoming game of football! Whether you're a seasoned player or just fancy a kickabout, all ages and abilities are welcome. It’s all about having fun, staying active, and meeting great people. Location York Sport Village, on the pitch in the middle cage. Cost £4 per person. We take card payments before the game but cash and bank transfer are also fine. Also, your first game is free! Attendence If you’ve RSVP’d but can no longer attend, please update your response so we can offer your spot to someone else. Please arrive on time – kick-off is prompt and late arrivals can disrupt the flow of the game. York Over 30’s Socialites

Welcome Socialites!! This group is for anyone over 30 who wants to join a friendly and inclusive community to make the most of what the city has to offer, for fun days and nights in and around town. The aim is to have events to suit all tastes: nights out at bars, restaurants, live music and cinema; by day, drinking coffee, or visiting local attractions. Or anything else you fancy! The Group was started in April 2015 and is now a well-established group, with over 100 events and 800 member attendances in the first year. New members regularly tell us that they were recommended to join by existing happy members, which is great to hear! So go on.....what's stopping you? I've been asked by a number of prospective members to give more of a guide to the age range of the group. Most members are between mid-30's and mid-50's, so prospective members might be more comfortable if they are in that approximate ball-park.....but no birth certificates are checked!! We have a team of Event Organisers but once you've been an active member for a few months,  if you fancy joining the team and put on events yourself, just let us know! Since its launch in 2022, the York Land Rover Show has grown into one of the UK’s most welcoming and community-driven 4×4 events. Set in the heart of Yorkshire, it celebrates the spirit, history, and innovation of Land Rover —from Series 1 classics to modern Defenders. Every ticket sold helps raise money for Mountain Rescue England & Wales. Thanks to our amazing visitors, we’ve raised over £32,000 in just four years — and we’re only getting started. Whether you’re coming to browse, camp, or showcase your pride and joy, you’ll find a friendly, down-to-earth atmosphere that makes for a great experience. Whether you're a long-time enthusiast or just curious about these iconic vehicles, this event is perfect for you. Get ready to see some amazing Land Rovers, meet fellow fans, and enjoy a fun day out! Don't miss out on this opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of Land Rover. Mark your calendars and see you there! We will have a great selction of club stands to cover all tastes, from the classic owners clubs, camping/family social clubs, green laning groups and motorsport clubs, you will certainly find the club for you here and all the club owners love to talk about their vehicles and what they do, so be sure to pop into the club stands and say hello. Trade stands, autojumble sellers, food stalls, beer truck, ice cream van and the now famous YLR Show RC crawler course where you can have a go around the tracks with one of our radio control Land Rovers, fun for kids and big kids alike. Camping is available from the afternoon of Friday 21st August Toilets and water onsite, no showers or electric hook up i'm afraid. Camping is on grass in either the lakeside grass meadow or the overflow camping area which is farm land, so we do advise for those in ground tents in the overflow area to please bring a ground sheet as there can sometimes be short stubble remnants, although these are very subtle, it's just so everyone knows what to expect.
